Do you have plans that provide local phone numbers?
Currently, Journey Japan eSIM plans only offer data, following Japanese regulations on local phone numbers. However, if making calls is important for you, don't worry! There are many great apps that allow you to make calls over data, like WhatsApp or Viber.
Can I stream video and make video calls?
Yes! Journey Japan eSIM supports HD video streaming, video calls, and everything in between. Whether you’re FaceTiming family back home, streaming on YouTube, or hopping on a Zoom call, our speeds handle it all without buffering.
How do I use tethering / activate my hotspot?
You can use tethering by setting up the APN for hotspot on your device. For iOS, go to Settings > Cellular > JJ eSIM > Cellular Data Network and enter APN vmobile.jp, Username JJESIM, Password JJESIM under Cellular Data and Personal Hotspot. For Android, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Access Point Names, tap Add New APN, and enter APN Name vmobile.jp, Username JJESIM, Password JJESIM, MCC 440, MNC 03, Authentication Type PAP or CHAP, APN Type default,supl. Data speeds may be slower when sharing with a laptop compared to mobile devices, as the eSIM is optimized for mobile use. Sharing service between iOS and Android devices may vary.
