Installed the eSIM prior to my departure and it connected straight away once I arrived in Japan. Reliable connection, so navigating with Google Maps was a breeze. Speed was always there - I FaceTimed family and friends on the go and the video was always crystal clear. Made my trip to Japan so much easier being able to have such a dependable connection! Will always get this eSIM when I come to Japan!

I had very little issues connecting to data anywhere in Japan from Himeji all the way to the summit of Mt Hakodate. The only time I had no service was on the train from Niseko to Hakodate, but otherwise it worked great and I didn't even have to use any public WiFi with the unlimited plan for my 19 day stay.

I have used esims in the past and decided to give Chris's JJesim a go since I have been watching his channel for a while. Installing was straightforward. I chose the 10 GB plan and after 10 days of intense usage I still had about 4GB left over. It does throttle sometimes at highly concentrated areas such as Shinjuku, but overall it served me very well. I would recommend the eSim to others.

I've just returned from 2 weeks in Japan travelling all over the country with a group of friends. I had an issue with the internet on a Sunday, due to a phone update, and I sent an email to support and got a reply with a solution within minutes. Also, the signal worked all trip even on crowded places.

Bought 20GB for 1 week usage however only used up 13GB for maps, translate, conversion, chat app, Instagram, YouTube and Spotify. During arrival in Japan I faced an issue with connection because my phone wasn't listed, so after a panicked email to JJEsim, within 15 minutes they replied and provided a manual network set up then all worked wonderfully. The line was stable and fast even underground and on the bullet train while my friend had constant data issues on another line. We used journey japan for our first trip last year, worked as soon as we landed, the only time I didn't have signal was between Osaka and Tokyo on the Shinkansen but had such pretty views I didn't need it! Other than that it worked amazing and was so easy to set up and the signal was amazing!! We're heading back to Japan in 2027 with friends and this was the first thing we've recommended to them.

I didn't have one drop out, regardless of if I was in a big city, or in the middle of nowhere. I recently just visited Japan, for three weeks, traveling from Tokyo all the way to the Fukuoka area. With the Esim from Journey Japan I didn't have to worry about being connected online, or deal with international phone plans or overcharges. Spent a month in Japan, and this esim was amazing. It was super easy to install into my Galaxy S25 plus. We went everywhere, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and even Okunoshima. It stayed steady the whole time and I never lost connection. I did the unlimited plan, which meant I could keep my family back home constantly updated and video call with them with no worries about my data running dry.

I spent weeks comparing esims from the big companies. I brought two phones to Japan, one with JJESim and one with a big name brand. It took two days to get the name brand esim to work, whereas the JJESim started working within minutes of getting off the plan at Haneda. I visited dozens of places in Japan for 30 days, and even in remote areas, the JJEsim held up. I only lost connection twice briefly, both deep in forested mountains. It's tough to think that one Youtuber can stand up to the big names, but JJESim is an excellent service and my experience was well beyond expectations.

I grabbed this eSim for my two week trip to japan. While i mainly stayed in Tokyo I ventured to the sendai area and it never failed, it was awesome! I have an iPhone 13 and everything just worked perfectly.

I just did a 2-week RV trip around southern parts and shukoku Island. I never once had a problem with connection. In Tokyo I had Friends that were having problems connecting to other esims but I had zero problems with JJesim being on the docomo Network. Will very much be using this again in the future.

Everything just worked? Mom and I traveled to Japan and I decided we'd try to different eSims and my phone had the JJ eSim and it just… worked. We had to jump through hoops and the other sim didn't get fully setup for a couple of days. I did have consistent 4g in both Tokyo, Osaka and Kawaguchiko. I had never dealt with eSims prior to this and enjoyed this experience greatly.

It was so easy to setup. Once setup it just worked so I didn't have to worry about not having access to data. It was cheaper than using roaming and definitely more reliable. It wasn't clear to me that the 30 day time period would start as soon as I completed the purchase. Because of that i startet the eSIM to early. Lucky for me it still covered my vacation time except the last day, which was inconvenient but managable. But I was pleased with the overall experience: the Website is good designed, activation process is easy and the Internet connection was very good nearly all the time. I visited Tokyo, Kanazawa, Shirakawa-Go, Osaka, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Kyoto and the Mt Fuji region. Would buy this eSIM again for future travels.

I was shocked to see how fast the Journey Japan eSIM really is! I've been to Japan multiple times using other providers, even at one point having a Japanese phone… but the Journey Japan eSIM had better service than a local provider. 10/10 would recommmend!

Worked everywhere we went and never experienced slow down

The 20GB data plan for 30 days met my needs between using google maps, searches, and sometimes playing Pokemon Go during train rides. There were a few occasions where my eSIM was unresponsive, likely due to saturated networks, for example at Osaka Castle and near Kawaguchiko to see Mount Fuji. I accepted the inconvenience but it did add some stress at points along my route.

You get it fast, installation is easy, and the signal is reliable in both rural and urban regions. For the price you are paying you are getting a very good product. Where I have to criticize a bit is connection speed - coming from Switzerland I have come to expect being able to watch HD video with no buffering, and this was not always my experience, especially in urban areas like Tokyo. In conclusion, would I buy this again? Yes, definitely.

I am going to Japan for my upcoming birthday, and while getting older in another country can come with many stressors, finding the right e-sim isn't one of them. I am happy with my choice of the Journey Japan eSIM. The only issue I have come across is the registering and downloading piece for the eSIM; however, this is a new service, and I don't doubt it will keep getting better.

Installed before the flight and it activated right away at landing. Speed was good and great in open air, in some stores even tho you have signal the speed dies, but it's more rarely than not. Only got LTE all trip but I enjoyed the data and compared to other eSIM this worked better.

I was bike packing in Japan for a month. This eSIM worked very well and fast. I was surprised to get a signal on almost every part of rural Japan, even on the road in the middle of nowhere. In some hotels, the cellular data was even faster than their Wi-Fi. I just only missed having personal hotspot sharing and 5G connectivity. At least on iPhone, those two features were unavailable.

I went all over Japan and most of the time I did not have 5G service like advertised. I was only there for 2 weeks and it was financially better to get the 30 day fully unlimited plan. But after the first few days, everything was so slow to load. I even had to use my car's navigation system instead of my phone because of how horrible the service was, and this was in the cities too, where all the tourists go.

I'm currently on a trip in Japan and have been in Tokyo, Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka and am really struggling with this esim. No matter where I am the internet speed is so excruciatingly slow. I've contacted support and followed instructions provided and nothing has changed. I'm very disappointed with this esim as I've seen nothing but great reviews. One positive I can give is that the installation process is fast and flawless.

I'm currently on a 4-week trip in Japan. For the first 3 weeks, the eSIM was great! However, in my 4th and final week, the connection has completely died. I have tried every solution that the troubleshooting tab suggested, and nothing worked. They claim 24/7 support, but it's an AI chatbot that can't actually help with real problems. I emailed customer service and still haven't received a response. I can't recommend the JJeSIM if it isn't going to work for the full duration of my stay.

I bought this with high hopes for my trip. It did not work for my phone and my friend was unable to download it on hers. We both made sure our phones worked with this esim before purchase. For me, it barely worked, lagged out constantly and I ended up deleting it and just used my tmobile international plan. I won't be getting this again. Wasted money on this big time.

Really not a great esim, constantly slow and making it hard to navigate. Would definitely recommend another esim option.
