How can I check if my device supports eSIM?
Newer devices should support eSIM if there are no restrictions set. You can also review your device settings and look for a secondary “IMEI” number, or "Add eSIM" section for a quick indication.
Do I need to unlock my phone to use the Journey Japan eSIM?
Yes! An unlocked (SIM-free) phone with eSIM compatibility is required. Check your device for an "Unlocked" SIM, and review our eSIM compatibility list. If there is any indication of "SIM Locked", you will need to unlock your device by contacting you carrier beforehand.
What devices are compatible with Journey Japan eSIMs?
Most cellular devices are compatible. You can find a list of devices compatible with eSIM technology on our website. If you do not see your device, feel free to reach out to our team.
Is Journey Japan eSIM compatible with other travel destinations outside of Japan?
Journey Japan eSIMs only work in Japan. Once you’re outside Japan, you won’t be able to access data.
Can I use my SIM card and Journey Japan eSIM at the same time?
Yes, you can have both physical and eSIM cards in your phone at the same time! Ensure your device has Dual-Sim functionality and you are good to go!
